future buyer and need some feedback

Okay everyone, This is my first post but I promise I am not trolling lol.
Anyway I am interested in the 911 turbo. I am looking at buying either the nissan gtr or the 911 turbo and want some feedback.
I know the 911 is probably built way better. But what are some of the adverage costs in having one. For instance how often would you say you need to replace the tires? How much are oil changes and brake jobs typically?
any other feed back between the 2 cars? I would be open to other porsche models as well.
I like handling and speed

Thanks
Dan

GT-R is Carlos Ghosn's attempt to bring fame back to Nissan as part of his bold, provocative and ambitious "Revival Plan" that started in 1999. Back when Nissan was about to close its doors - they were bankrupt.
GT-R is a car that is offered at a low price but costs nearly the same or more than the cost of ownership of a 997tt in the long run if you take maintenance into consideration. I haven't had any maintenance other than a $130 oil change on my '09 turbo. I know an oil change on the GT-R is over $200. So, you get the idea. GT-R IS a fun car though.

thank you for your response. This is what I am finding out thru my research. For instance the break jobs on the GTR is in the thousands. So far this has been my take. I think the GTR is fast and fun, but for the price I am just not sure of the quality in the long run. I hear the tires go out in the GTR after about 7000 miles and run about $900 a pop. I think both the Porsche and the GTR would both be fun. I am just wondering about quality in the long run and maintenance pricing. At least with a porsche i would kind of expect to pay a high price, but with the nissan I think I would complain every time I went to the dealership and be thinking, crap it's just a nissan.

But still it comes down to money and there is about 40k between the two i think.

Oil change once a year. Every 2 years there is a bit of a more involved serivce on the 911. Can't really say on brakes, but with PCCBs, the year to year cost is almost non-existent as I have been told they should last the life of the car under non-track use.

Biggest expense is gas and tires for me .

BTW, I am considering selling parting ways with my '08 997 TT: Porsche Approved CPO, Black/Black, 6 spd, PCCB, Venture Shield complete front bra, SpeedART LED DRL, Custom Integrated Escort 9500ci. ~16K miles. Let me know if it is something you might be interested in.

Just about to pass 56,000 miles on mine. In terms of maintenance it's not really that crazy. Oil changes you can perform as often as you like, dont do it at the dealer and it will be cheap.

The only things that cost a lot are:
Spark plugs : every 15,000-20,000 miles
And the larger service intervals: which you could also do at a non-dealer since I haven't had any good experiences with any dealers.

Overall I think for a car with this level of performance its really not a wallet breaker. I drive mine in rain, sleet, snow, its held up for 56,000 miles relatively well. Only surprise has been a few bad spark plugs (warranty), slave clutch cylinder (known issue - warranty), and a bad camshaft sensor (out of warranty).
