They should eat the 2K,especially since we both signed a contract at that time
The reason i was surprised by my salesman's call,is that my dealership has been always helpful in every way and are even very mod-friendly ...
So this nickel and diming kinda was not pleasant
fully agree, you are talking about 1.2% of the price of the car, they are nuts to even ask for it

contract

General business law states that you have a binding contract if three things occur:

1. An offer/proposal from the seller
2. Acceptance of the p[roposal offer by the buyer
3. Consideration paid by the buyer (e.g., down payment)

Tell them to stick it up their ***!!!

I put 50% of the estimated cost down in Feb. They try that trick with me and they can send my check back. I don't care what percentage of the total cost it represents. It's a principle issue for me. That's bad business.

i am shocked you are even paying MSRP. More shocked if you don't have any luck not paying the extra $2k. And surprised that you had to pay before delivery. Never heard of such things.

I don't know when the additional $2k to MSRP came about, but I ordered my car March 3, manufactured May 20, shipped May 31. I got the invoice from the dealer a week ago and there was no increase over what he originally quoted me. In addition, i put $10k down, with balance due on delivery. Never heard of paying for a car in full prior to delivery. Sounds to me like unscrupulous dealer has a better offer and is trying to hold you up. But since you paid in full, you've met your legal obligation under the contract and since the dealer accepted payment, he's obligated to honor the original terms.

It really sucks when dealers get greedy and forget about long term relationships over a quick buck. Most people buy multiple cars from a trusted dealer.

Stick to your guns and don't let the ******* rip you off.

I ordered mine in Feb. My contract says MSRP less discount. As of today I still don't have any clue what that will be. Due to no firm price on options. Guess I am scrwmed as they say if they have in fact gone up. Since I ordered Ice Blue I may retire before it gets here.

Bingo, this is impacting many products exported from Germany. I think the tactics of getting you to pay another 2k over MSRP is ridicules. They are trying to make up for all the 997's they sold at a 20k discount. I would tell them to stick it! And paying up front for a car??? total BS. They suck, get your money back and move on, they are bad business people.

Exactly insane! To throw down that much coin to begin with then they want more? Tell them thanks for the discount! I would have come at them for a discount especially if I were to pay in full already. Big ***** to come at the op like that. If I were the dealer I would eat the cost, and all they have to do is eat the cost at wholesale not retail so it's even less than that. Small price to pay for a customer's patronage.
