here is the official news release from Spectre 341 Challenge just issued:

"After two days of fun and excitement, the 341 Challenge suffered a
tragedy when VRAlexander was killed in an accident when he went off
course. Out of respect for his grieving family please refrain from
participating in hearsay and speculation. This is a very sad turn of
events, but he was pursuing his dream. Please send your thoughts and
prayers to his family during this trying time."

 

Oh wow, what sad news. He really made an impact in the car enthusiasts world. Will be greatly missed.

My condolences to his family.

 

This nasty set of curves reminds me of Pike's Peak except it has more switchbacks. I drove up that bad boy one time and even at slow rates of speed it was fricking scary.

What a shocker.

I met Alex at the IPCPR Tobacco Trade Show in Las Vegas 2 years ago by coincidence. Had a nice conversation with him there with a couple of friends.

Rest in peace Alex - We will always remember.

Very sad news, especially since I was just learning who he was from a local forum members "blog" of the event. At least he was doing what he loved.
