Here's a link to the car...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...TQ:MOTORS:1123

It's listed at $109 but the dealer will get it CPO'd and still sell for $109K.
17 mos on standard warranty plus 2 years on CPO.

I dig the Cobalt Blue.

What are the must have options on an 08/09?

I plan on starting a to track a there are many in Michigan. Want a great car I can play with.

'08 or '09. Want to spend $110K tops for a well optioned, low mile Turbo Coupe.

Thanks..

Jeff, they aren't a P dealer so can't CPO it. Unless they "channel" the deal through a neighbouring/friendly P car dealership (which is what happened with mine to get the cpo).
If you're willing to spend up to 110k then you'll definitely be able to find an amazing car with everything you want. Including the colour you want. I like the colour enough but wouldn't buy it though.

If you plan on modding the car for track use, there is no sense in getting a CPO.
The minute you start playing with an ECU tune, let alone upgrading for bigger power packages, your CPO is gone.
If you plan on keeping it stock, then a CPO makes sense.

The Bland --
A few things (not in any specific order) .

1) Another forum member named Skizot bought his car at that indy dealership and praised them highly at finding well kept cars . You may want to PM him . I might recall reading somewhere in his many posts that they are priced high and don't wiggle too much (but I am not sure) . Ask him.

2) It sounds like a really nice car . As long as it has the ceramics --just get them .
I've read some of the track related posts on the subject of cost to maintain. The reviews are mixed . Some love them and others feel that the steel brakes are less costly but my feeling is that those who heaviuly track the cars are putting wear on them and the cost of upkeep is the price of the toy.

3) The PCM upgrades in 09 --
I have both an 07 and 09 car. I despise navigation . In fact I even rejected the sales presentation of it at delivery . What i do like is the Ipod and bluetooth .
My aftermarket Nav -TV and Tooki are just as good if not better than the 09 OEM . I use the PCM unit to navigate but it's not touchscreen and i happen to like that more. I don't like having finger prints on my 09 car screen.

Good luck .

I bought a similarly optioned 07 with 15k miles, CPO in Jan for 91, I think any price b/t 99-105 would be fair, minus a couple $k for no CPO. My view is that the single best P value today is a 997.1tt.

I think 105k is a fair price, cpo would not be important to me as these car's are bullet proof. A non p dealer can't cpo anyway, use that as leverage, cobalt is not the most popular color, another point of leverage.
Once you drive the tt, you'll forget all about the 4s.

Gotcha.

The dealer is firm on $109. He'd have the local Porsche dealer do the CPO. HE gave me their info. I like the Blue but will certainly try and leverage it.

He keeps coming back to the $158K MSRP and lower miles.

thanks

Looks nice but I think the price is a little high by 8-10k. If you live in a state that does not charge sales tax on a private party sale you can save another 10k.

How would this be a private deal? He mentioned the word "dealer" a dozen times... 2008 CPO and low miles should be a great deal for $105k area, but if you are comfortable with the asking price go for it because someone else will !!!

I live in AZ where a private party sale is not taxed, or if you trade in a car you get a tax credit for the value of the trade. Not saying this would be a private sale but there are plenty of used 997 Turbo's out there. The tax savings would buy him a extended warranty from the Porsche dealer and give him 6k at a minimum in his pocket. Plus any private party sale would be 8-10k less than what a dealer is selling the car. At 105k he is close to 120k with tax and tags and another 1k to ship. Any benefit of buying a low mileage car is lost when he drives it off the lot unless he is just going to look at the car in his garage.

I understand your point now. I focused on this deal alone and could not imagine how could it be done as a private deal. <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com</st1:State><ST1Montana</ST1 has no sales tax, PERIOD. <st1:State w:st="on">California</st1:State> is the only state that will charge Montanans a CA sales tax if you drive the car off the lot... therefore, I always towed the <st1:State w:st="on">California</st1:State> purchases to the <st1:State w:st="on"><ST1Nevada </ST1</st1:State>border line. Saved me $10k in average. <st1:State w:st="on"><ST1Montana </ST1</st1:State>gets you at registration time however, as our fees are out of this world. Just registered the Silver 997tt last week costing me $621.00 for ONE year. YES, $621.00 with existing plates transferred....<O</O

That is cheap compared to my $1100 for my 07 Turbo.

OK... similar car (2208 Turbo), I can get it for just under $100K, CPO

Features:
Fire Extinguisher
Floor Mats in Interior Color
Rod Antenna
Sport Chrono Package Turbo
997 Paint To Sample
Axle-Differential Lock Rear
Door Finishers in Leather
Exterior Color to Sample
Heated Front Seats
Parking Assist System
Thicker Steering Wheel-Leather

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsc...5fTrucks#v4-33

What do you's guys think ?

And the color is custom... How difficult is it to match? Is this an offered Porsche custom color or a color they mixed specifically for the customer?

Thanks!
