My 2011 911 Turbo S tracked, first time with dual camera video and 3-chl data
the chips people put into diesel trucks are adjustable to allow for up to "200hp" increase. They have to absolutely flood the combustion chamber with fuel to do so, and the byproduct is heavy black smoke. When you see a truck smoking like that they are trying to all-out race you
wow, some dude in a monster truck did this to me a few months ago... lame.

The things I learn here! I guess now if they're trying to race me and I don't want to breathe in the black smoke I just have to speed up a little. Not sure what the cops will think about that excuse, health vs. safety.
Beautiful car! Torn between upgrading to the RS or the 911 turbo S.

If you encounter one of these guys in a diesel truck with a switchable performance chip, if conditions permit, try to goad him into keeping pushing his truck to the limit for 15 - 30 minutes. Chances are, that something serious will break in the engine, headcasket failure, piston or rod failure, cracked crankcase. The reason is that diesel engines are rather highly stressed to begin with because of their high compression ratio. The engines usually don't have enough strength margin designed in to be able to handle a 30-50% power increase for any length of time.
I see a lot of **** dirt bags doing the smoke shows here in Bakersfield. Just never happens to me since I always keep a good distance behind all drivers.
Also love them jackass train horns.

Don't even TRY to rationalize for them. It's called a f___ smokeshow. Watch the video. See the red truck's smoke start the exact MOMENT I have turned onto the ramp- with no prior interaction, documented by me coming down the street. The timing is no accident. He saw me coming when he turned onto the ramp ahead of me. All he had to do was rotate a switch in the cab that controls a $500-1,000 modification to the engine (which over-rides the normal diesel fuel/air mixtures) he's selected his choice of overboost: 1.2.3.4.5___ em
When one of these bastards is ready: He simply presses a button and his buddies turn in the cab to watch the..."Eat my sh__".
In case you still don't believe it, here's one that went on for 12 blocks on a nice summer evening while people were watering their yards.

It happens to me twice a month- at least.
Look at all the Youtube videos of "diesel smoke shows". The point of these bastards is to be the center of attention (which is what they've become- even on this chat thread).

Brake pads
Did you track with the stock brake pads? I have been told to install different pads for the track or you will eat up the ceramic discs. Any truth to this and what pads do you recommend?
I went stock (two week old car) and don't know why anyone would recommend otherwise. Brake pads are what would wear out over time, not the ceramic rotor (which could be destroyed if a street/ track pebble gets into one of the rotor holes and is crushed during brake action. The tech inspector for the track event told me only to anticipate doing a brake fluid bleed between any track events I do. But not to worry about it otherwise. I'm sure there are others here who might be able to answer your questions with knowledge. I can't. Sorry
bump...still looking for some answers.
Sorry for delay. I can't post photos right now as they're all on a computer which right now has no monitor. But photos aren't really needed, as all that's going on in mounting them inside the car is this:
The cameras are round cylinders, about 3inches long and an inch in diameter, with 12v power plug input on one side and SD memory card slot on the other, A bracket is holding each cylinder/camera to the windshield with 3M double sided tape. Until I figure out a permanent power solution I'm just using a cigarette lighter connection. The camera data is written on a standard HD SD card in each camera (I started out with 16Gb and bought two 4Gb cards last night, so if I have an "event" that I want to protect, I can easily load the new pair, front and rear, and thus secure the data on the old cards from being overwritten. Once I've downloaded the desired image data I simply erase the card's data files and reuse the card in the camera. I listed the name/ phone number of the guy I bought the cameras from on the Youtube video, so if you need more information I'm sure Jon Lang can help you. Cheers.John
