Europipe or Tubi or valve system?
Sometimes the issue is the fact that some people are just sitting there listening for it and waiting for it.
It's like when a Dr tells a patient all the side effects of a medication and the patient inevitably finds he has some of them....if he never told them they might not even be aware of it.
If you sit there and listen for it you will find it.
I have not been able to discern any drone on my Turbo....is it there??
Possibly....but I am concentrating more on the driving experience and have not noticed it.

Every exhaust I have had...Fabspeed, Ruf, Tubi, and Markski's 2.75in crossflow, had drone...somewhere between 2000-3000 RPM. If you drive through the RPM band, I'm sure you will find it. If you zip through the RPM band quickly, you won't notice. But if you climb through the revs very slowly under load, I bet you'll find the "drone" spot.

, fueled by the lack of definition and, as someone mentioned, its subjective nature. Not for Bob of course, but for europeankar and those looking, yes, there is a resonance, to me defined as a MUCH louder than normal noise at a certain rpm. My humble opinion:
1. In 99.9% of turbo exhaust, this resonance is below 3000 rpm, and when I hear people talk about it, it's usually in the higher gear, like 4th or 5th during cruising. Any of the big name vendor here who claims this doesn't exist, please fire him. Just kidding.
2. Occasionally, there ARE bad cases. The exact sound of a "bad" resonance varies, but trust me you will know it when you hear it. It could be a persistant and very loud noise that persist in all RPM range, or it could be a strange noise on deceleration, etc.
Regardless, when this is the case, I do believe that it's a malfunction or bad installation, or a bad interaction with other things you've done to your car (an ECU tune, for example).
So remember: pick a reputable name, listen for the sound, live audition or all bets are off, pay attention to loudness, and you will be safe. There is no right or wrong in exhaust sound, strictly personal preference, and I could safely say almost anything is better than stock sound.

Even the stock exhaust has a resonant frequency (aka drone), there are lots of variables at play. Some exhausts drone worse than others, way worse, some hardly at all. AFRs and ambient temps seem to play a role, in addition to physical construction of the exhaust can predispose to drone. The exhausts you mentioned have a great reputation, I would not hesitate to get either one. I can tell you the Tubi sounds great with very, very little drone, and first hand reports about the EP sounds even better. Either way you can't go wrong with these or any of the higher end exhausts.
The two can tubi is 90% as good as a EP1 imo(sound).
Re drone vs resonance, they all have some degree of mild resonance. Drone is when you have a constant, headache inducing, wife screaming "shift" tone ~3000rpm. It's unmistakeable, constantly on your mind while driving. A good exhaust you never have to think about.

Hi europeankar ,
Here are the specifications of our 997 Turbo sport exhausts :
- XXL size 100 cpsi sport cats
- heat shields around the cats to protect them from thermal shocks
- no CEL problems and you don't need bung extensions either
- large size plenums after the cats
- large 84mm transition between the cats and the mufflers
- large size muffler cans
- heat shields around the mufflers
- expansion bellow between the muffler cans for a stress free fitment
- same weight as stock
Here are some pictures :
Look at the size of the cats , the big plenum , the 84mm transition and the huge mufflers.
My brother Herman builds the muffler cans and I do the cats.
New gaskets , nuts , studs and an array of special tools are included.

Hey Paul do you recognize this one ?

I would run the Europipe over TUBI any day of the week.. The sound IMO is as good and HANDS DOWN it makes more power.. I have yet to see any Tubi system make impressive power.. Sorry..
Also I dont know who cant clearly see the quality of the Europipe being superior.. The design is better.. it has less places to leak as you notice those slip fit connection x 4 on each end of the muffler on the tubi.. Polished welds to me mean cover up.. I like to see the quality, heat penetration, etc.. Not polished out welds.. Thats just me.. And for anyone wondering i dont carry either line so i am Unbiased.. Although after studying the Europipe and having another big name manufacturers exhaust crack in 3 places on a customer car recently i think i need to talk with stef about becoming a dealer..

As the saying goes: "a picture tells a thousand words" and in this instance all good ones thankfully. I think i said to you at one stage that i feel sorry for your competitors. I'm surprised they are all still in business
. All they need to do is lift their game....somehow.I trust you can see what im on about now bosco? EP makes a very hard act for any exhaust manufacturer to follow.

No need to be sorry Mike. You are telling the truth. As a tubi owner (and now the EP) i can vouch for that being 100% correct.
