Has anyone been able to install an aftermarket alarm? I took my 08 997tt to have a Viper alarm installed at a reputable shop in VA and I was told that they tried everything but due to the fact the the lock/unlock wire is controlled by a single wire, they were unable to install the alarm UNLESS I wanted to install an alarm without the ability to unlock/lock the doors as I disarm/arm it.

 

I had a Viper 5902 installed on my 09 997TT in Charlotte, NC just two weeks ago with no problems. I chose to not install the remote start portion of the system.

 

Thanks for that info. It's interesting. Can you give me the name of the shop that installed it? I'd like the technician here to give them a call to see what's the difference.

They also installed my Escort 9500ci a year ago.

We have similar taste. Same color paint, same tint & as you know from your response in my post regarding wheel size I am about to pull the trigger on 20" HRE's & H&R springs.
