Great cars, truck and boat! How is Burlington? I went to UVM/Medical School there and loved the place. One of the best small cities in the U.S., IMHO...

The truck is an F-650 2008 it has a Caterpillar C-7 (330HP/1000FT/PDS Torque) for power coupled to an Allison transmission.

Most of these frames are built as flat platform tow trucks or delivery truck. The dealer I got it from built it by ordering an Excursion body and tagging it behind a chassis he ordered.

The box is from an F450 but they had to build a frame on top of the existing frame to clear the tires that are to big for the wheel wells and to line up with the body. The bottom of the windows on the truck are at 6' from the ground.

The interior is all from an excursion and every headrest has a TV in it as well as the dash, making a total of five TV's in the truck. The sound system these guys put in would also lift the truck off the ground!

It's a blast to drive and the kids love it, my wife thinks it's little bit over the top but we have to pull the boat with something. Most of the time I have an employee drive it when we go to various location for Poker Runs with the boat.

We're doing Miami-Key West next week...

Thanks for all the compliments I will convey them to my bro about his 997 and lets have fun out there!

Pic of when I got it.

Now the boat is a completely different story!

actually, I've had two of them for my tow company and they were the worst trucks I've ever had, both had the c7 cat motor and I had nothing but problems with both.

To the OP, look out for injector pumps and injectors, very well known problem with the c7. Also blew a turbo on each one with less than 50k miles, not cool at all.

I obviously use my trucks 24/7 not as a personal vehicle so they take much more abuse but still, not a good track record. I wish you better luck with yours.

Indeed the C7 is not trouble free but I do not put much milage on it... About 8k a year, it is warranted for ever but if it would be a money maker like a tow truck I would not have that motor..

It is a great place to live but earning a living would be tough if I would only rely on local stuff.
We work all over the US so this is not an issue.
The only drawback for boat nuts like we are is the winter but we leave the toys in Florida most of the winter...

Did one of the final tune ups this morning... Cold out there...
