Far from it. Lots of owners seem to like it, or at least 'don't mind' it. But for anyone that doesn't like the OEM feel, then they should consider it if the trans is going to come out for any other reason.

The air intakes can only improve flow - they are such a pain to change and swap that if your engine is going to be out, I'd change them.
Bobby, How restrictive is the 997.1t intake? I've seen dyno from Proto with GT2 making 850 rwhp and they had to swap out GT2 intake to 997.1 intake to make it work.

Hey Asher i just saw this thread after my PM so i ask also wtf with the engine being pulled to do a clutch? Are you sure thats all they are changing. Agree the plugs are a PITA and $$ to change out. Im still milling over what plugs im going to use myself and hopefully will have enough info soon to make a concrete decision on that. Good luck and keep us posted.....but check on that job spec first hey. The bill may be be an ugly one.

Yeah, I'll have to get clarification about the engine being dropped or just the transmission. Quoted 1200bucks Canadian cash for the clutch job. Compares reasonably favourably to the 900bucks US some people are paying. I don't mind paying a little more here b/c the shop is local.

I don't have data, but if you look at the intake tubing from the turbos to the airbox, ones made by TA, EVOMS, 9ff, CMS...all are significantly greater in diameter.

Thanks. That's exactly what I was wondering whether anyone has any flow data on intakes at various pressures. Kinda like ICs.

There is a vendor on the boards here (USP I believe or maybe AWDMotorsports) that has dyno graph difference with just their upgraded turbo inlet plumbing. The data was from a 996tt. I asked if the results were the same for a 997tt (and if there existed the same bottleneck) but didn't get a reply.
