Oh man. Sorry to hear that your build date has slipped again. My S has now been built and I am now waiting for firm shipping details but am expecting a February delivery date into Australia. Maybe mine will be the first IBM Turbo S on this thread . Will post pictures as soon as I get them.

Note that I was 49 when I first started speaking to the dealer about this car and will be 52 turning 53 when I get it.

I am pretty sure you will be the first to post Ice Blue actual owner photos. Look forward to seeing those soon. I am pretty certain we have had longest wait for our Turbo S.

We better not ever order a Ferrari unless it's a retirement present to ourselves and we better order today.

Very nice pictures -

Curious, how's the power compared to your M5? I know the PDK is way better than that SMG but my M5 hauled ***. Just wondering how you think they compare..

IBM is pure VAPORWARE for the buying public. Though I did see one, got to sit in it too, in Carmel at the Porsche Zentrum during Pebble Beach in August.

My Turbo S is sitting in Germany waiting for someone to stop eating schnitzel and drinking beer and get it loaded on a boat for me!

The M5 had much lower torque. It felt almost anemic under 5000 rpm. Above that, it woke up like a turbo kicked in. Power levels at peak felt much lower than the 997TT, but the car IS 800 pounds heavier, too.

The SMG tranny in the M5 was archaic in comparison to the PDK. Clunky & forget even trying to drive it in auto mode. I hated to have to press a button every time I started up the car to get 500HP. Maybe they changed that on later versions of the software; I hope so.

Still, the M5 is a fine car that anyone would be proud to own. It's just a completely different kind of ride than a P-car.
