excellent choice!!
Consider yourself spoiled for life... there are very few if any cars out there that you can hope to "upgrade" to one day. Enjoy it as much as you can. This is possibly as good as it gets (with slight variations!)

Hi, Welcome.
I am New as well. I got an 07 TT and loving it. Just changed the exhaust to AWE. Loving the sound. I hardly listen to music anymore.

Belated welcome to the 6 and congrats on a great choice.

I want to also second everyone's recommendations on Todd K. at Protomotive.
Simply one of the best in the world, and he happens to be near, you!
(If only you could see the look of envy in my eyes LOL!)

Thanks again for all the warm welcomes....

Im gonna go ahead an ask some questions that maybe can get answered without me starting a new thread.

I got my first CEL about a day after I got back. I had gotten gas from a small gas station in the middle of nowhere in Texas, left the engine running and didnt tighten the cap (Yea i know, im an idiot, but i had forgotten about shutting off the engine while fueling in these cars) So i figured that was the culprit for the light.

Well I got my Durametric cable from FVD (thanks guys) and my error codes are as follows:

P9021:
System too rich at idle bank 2
Value below lower limit value

P9021:
System too rich at idle bank 2
Implausible signal

P8821:
System too rich at idle bank 1
Value below lower limit value

P8821:
System too rich at idle bank 1
Implausible signal

After searching around, im hoping its the O2 sensors or MAF.... is there anything i can do before I make a trip to the dealership (it two and a half hours away). Or could it be that i just have some bad gas or something.

Is the car completely stock or does it already have some mods?

I would first consider clearing the CEL with Durametric and then see if it returns.

And of course, turn off the engine when filling up (for safety) and make sure the gas cap is tight. That's for any car not just P cars.

Completely stock..... I cleared it this morning and went on about a 2hr drive without it popping back up, going on another back road drive and see if anything comes up.

On to the last question I have, what kind of Oil consumption should i be expecting?

There happened to be a Porsche Club event going on when i picked up my car and a few of the owners there made me worry about burning a ton of oil. One even told me that they couldnt go on a 5 hour drive without have to refill the oil, so i stocked up for my drive back. But after the 8hr drive back and cruising around town, (probably gone about 1000 miles) the oil level hasn't budged. At what point do i start worrying about the gauge not being accurate. I dont mind putting more oil in, just dont want to hurt anything if my gauge is reading full but nothing is in there....

Ive done some searching of the old posts, but it seems like everyone is all over the place on how much they burn. Its just been kinda stressing me out, as I dont want to hurt my baby! haha

All cars will use some oil and some Porsches will use a bit more than you would normally expect. However, the 997TT has a large oil capacity so even if you use a qt every 5k miles (which would be a lot IMO) it isn't such a big deal.

As long as oil pressure readings are around 5 on the OP gauge when the car is running (not idling) you'll be doing fine.

BTW, some of the older air cooled Porsches did use a LOT of oil, but even that was by design and normal for those cars.
