New 997.2 Turbo Package Released
Your right, the other companies besides GIAC use Softronics interface to flash. Glad this thread was ruined...
This thread is NOT ruined. How is it ruined? Simply because a statement was made that was shown incorrect by others?

On a more humourous note...come on kids, play nice!!! hahahahahah

Back to the subject, MetalMan you can view all our individual product testing of Hoppity's 997.2TT here on his project car section. http://www.vividracing.com/blog/cate...ject-not-ours/
Our Mustang Dyno is always run in AWD and we use 91 octane so these maps dont have as aggressive timing as 93oct do. With our multiplier set to 1.0 on our dyno, we usually factor a 20-25% drivetrain loss. If you click the link above you can see how that relates on the baseline. The best run of the car is shown here at 518awhp and 501ft/lbs to the AWD wheels. 518 x 1.25 = 647.50. This car on the new Softronic STAGE 3 map or even 93oct should rock closer to 675hp.

Funny stuff.
Wouldn't the mere activity of loading tunes thru the ODBII port be captured by the indash system (don't remember what it is called) and thus the loading of tunes would still be detected?
And yep, this guy is more than just sensitive especially for a major sponsor looking to drum up business from members. He just neg repped me over on his other thread so he can strike me off his list permanently for that (and anyone else that i know over this way). He can sure get a real wobble up when someone posts something that isn't to his liking or not in the direction he wants. Kind of makes you wonder why he posts things up at all.

You can flash back and forth via the OBDII. Since you are replacing the TRUE ORIGINAL file, it is what it was when you had it stock. There is nothing to count or detect. Again the write up on the car is here - http://www.vividracing.com/blog/proj...997-2-turbo-2/
Our baseline in standard was 422awhp 91octane. As I said in the write up and have read from other tuners on builds, these cars produce a bit more power then the quoted 500hp. A 25% drivetrain loss is 375. Even at 20% loss is 400.

This shows standard vs sport.

Lets just say that for every front door there is usually a back one also and different levels of access. Porsche cant as a rule retrieve lost Imob codes on DME's, alter hrs, Over revs etc yet it can be done, not by them though. Many times a Dealer enters a wrong code or exceeds the 3 programming rule and ask for assistance.
The Watchdog or DME monitoring is largely on itself and independent among the other control units. The issue with using a different DME is simply the other units do not increment with them so it is a given as an example that a car with 10 hrs couldn't have 10k miles on it or 300 in another registry etc. Porsche does replace DME's under warranty so the counter for that DME would be 0 yet it is recorded in the history of the car.
A simple rule of thumb is ALL tuned files are detectable period yet there is a difference in a correct Porsche file and how it is loaded as to if it is out of sequence. A tuned file can be detected by its simple binary or even CVN that is viewable on a PIWIS yet you have to know what the correct code is to verify. The PIWIS used to do this however starting in version 18 it was dropped so that it was not readily checkable and used by others.

The original file that you would flash back to is not detectable as it is the correct file for the car and the CVN, flash counters etc correctly shown. There is nothing lets say detectable than what is correct for the car. I guess you could say it is technically detectable as correct.
So, bli8, the answer seems pretty obvious (to me). I'd encourage anyone to read that entire thread and decide for themselves. Even if you flash back to stock, it can be found-out by the dealership or PCNA, if they know (and/or care) about what to look for. I think most well-informed enthusiasts realize that if you do performance mods, you run the risk of headaches if any unfortunate repair items subsequently arise. A good relationship with your service advisor and/or service manager and/or dealership GM can go a long way in some of these cases... but don't think that any aftermarket tune is completely untraceable - none are, "period."
