What type of Brake Light Bulbs on 997.1TT?

A really simple question, but I seem to have missplaced my owners manual manual. What is the correct bulb type etc. to replace a brake light on a 997.1TT. And is there anything "magical" about the bulbs porsche uses or will the ones from autozone work just the same .. thanks.

You can find them and order from Suncoast too.

Just finished replacing mine. Used Sylvania 7528 LL's bought at Kragen. They are 5W models rather than the 4W OEMs so i replaced both. Also, the two pegs on the base are in a 12/6 O'clock position rather than the 12/5:30 position from the OEMs, so you have to insert them a bit differently into the housing, but it can be done.

One other issue i had was that my left tail light didn't want to come out after removing the fastening screw. I thought perhaps i was pulling on it wrong, so i unscrewed the other first instead to check how it came out. Turns out the left light was just stubborn, so i gave it a few open fisted palms to loosen it up and it came out as planned.

Why did you use the wrong bulb?

Kragen recommended them as the replacement, they were P21, just 5W rather than 4W. I'd read of people using the 5Ws before. Didn't see the peg difference until i got back home and took apart the fixture. As they mounted up securely, provide brake lighting, i'm fine with them and don't have to spend another hour of my day running around to auto stores. It fixes my problem of no left brake light. I'll keep them until i go LED.
