Thoughts on this build? Would you pay more for many options?
Hah! That's good.
Have you tried to sell it here or on Rennlist? I'm sure you'd find someone on Rennlist who would really enjoy it more than a dealership!
That dealer doesn't really have a Pcar following.

That's the oldest line in the book; "the car has to be gone by x date" BS
You are paying 89k, not the salesman.
Tell them your terms and be firm.
Be ready to walk, don't be emotional about a car. You WILL find another, don't worry.

. j/k.
Agreed. Already told them thanks, but no thanks. I'm not going to be forced into a purchase of this magnitude and have them dictate to me how this goes down. Salesman then says "we will pick up the process when you return from your trip". My response, "no thanks. Apprecite your time". Really, did they think I was going to fall for this? I reiterated, this is a 4+ year old car with 25K miles and I don't give a $hit that it has PCCB and a built in radar or an extra set of wheels, good luck with the next guy....... oh well. next.......
Right move, don't look back. These guys are just trying to clear inventory b4 the month's end to avoid further insurance, etc on a car that's been sitting for months.
I had a Ford dealer pull the same crap with me once, never again.
The only move, if you still have any interest at all, would be an offer of x-5k for the hassle factor, otherwise , walk.

I know you guys will be surprised that the dealer already called and left me a message and sent an email letting me know they will hold the car until 4/2. I'm going to respond that I am working with a local dealer for a car with less miles at a lower price and the only way to move forward is if they reduce the price. It's really mind-blowing as to why they would blow up the deal only to call the next day...... not good business.

There you go, if you are patient then walk away, there will plenty other opportunities, at least that is what I keep telling myself for the last 7 months

Buying a car should be a pleasant experience and from reading this post it does not seem to be the case. Good luck in your search.

keep up the pressure, you'll have the car at your price, under your conditions. If not, let somebody else buy it. I'm sure the sales guy is catching grief from his GM for f'ing up this deal.
Stealers: These ain't hyundia's, hi pressure/high volume/move 'em out fast used car dealer tactics won't work on us.
Actually, very predictable!
