Service question

I have been looking at some Carfax reports in my search for a used 997tt. I have seen this in multiple reports:

"Engine removed for repair
Engine cleaned
Front crankshaft oil seal replaced"

Is this common? Should I run or should I consider this as one less issue to worry about?

Thanks in advance!

Considering you almost have to remove the engine to change the spark plugs, I don't know if I would get too worked up over it.

agreed, open the rear hatch and see how much room you have.

I haven't seen this particular car but we oftentimes drop engines just to even fine boost leaks.

that line item wouldn't steer me away

Agreed. Depending on what was actually done, it may not be a big deal at all.

Thanks for the info.

Both the cars that I am looking at show this in their service records. I guess the bright side is that they are also CPO'd .

I recently had a coolant leak and they had to drop the engine to get to it, like they said above very common in these cars.

With the motor stuffed like a thanksgiving day turkey how else can you really work
on it with out a drop?

I seen a motor outside the car and it baffles me how it actually "fits"...
