I think you're going to have to mount a front plate in nys. I tried it without and got pulled over at the tunnel 3 times. Not worth it IMO.

Florida only requires a back plate. Hurts to see the puncture marks on cars from other states, but I wouldn't be risking being pulled over.

I would get the metal frame that screws into the toe hook if I had to mount a front plate.

It's worth not having to put holes in my bumper...

I can't imagine the disappearing plate option is going to work for a 911tt since you're always scraping the lip as it is.

I would do the vinyl sticker plate look-a-like UK style... Copy, print on vinyl, affix, done. Not the best of surfaces for a laser gun so that WILL also most likely get you a ticket at some stage, but you wont be a "mile-away" target at first sight.

Why is this better than a regular plate?

+1. It's the best solution to having to mount a front plate. About $90.

If I go this route, the plate will block one of the laser shifters on my 9500ci. is there a way to move the plate up about 1 inch?

If you look at the plate on moweraxle.com you'll see there are several positions you can use to mount it. You could easily flip the plate and raise it 4-5".
