Traffic usually thins out going south from LA until you hit Orange Co. Then it sucks again:/
GL with the install. Are you getting harnesses installed there too? Sent Betim a few questions via email without a reply. Hopefully yours won't take too long.

Ed, Betim has been pimpin' out our design! Here it is (back half only) in a 991 that stopped by earlier today. They also had another one fab'd up in the shop waiting for finishing.

Wow. You're really getting the VIP treatment. Powdercoat looks great!

Once he's done, can you get Betim to answer my email?

Hey Ed, Back in SJ took me seven hours to get home today, ugh!

Noon traffic on a Saturday in LA:

One of my favorite views (sorry for the crappy picture). The finish looks incredible in person. Its actually a two step process. Initial base Powder Coat is Lazer Black then a Black Chrome Powder Coat was applied after the first baking. It really has a gunmetal black chrome look yet matches the finish of my exterior as well. The half cage is completely incognito as I wanted. It blends in with the interior. When approaching the vehicle you really have to look to see it. Stealthly.

FE fits like a glove. Hard to tell from these images but I have 0.5"-0.75" clearance from the bar. I put a double layer of gaffers tape on the bar just to ensure I won't jack-up the finish shall I ever need to use it. Although I'm sure that will be the least of my worries at the time.

Hats off to Betim and his crew, especially to Joey for keeping a stiff upper lip after piercing it with one of his front teeth when a small mishap occurred during the install.

Thanks Guys!

Tried to capture a better FE mounting angle:

And I almost forgot about the "pièce de résistance"

Shock tower mounted, Bose Sub in place, and a super clean install!

Wow- looks awesome Vid! This Mod bug is starting to spread again. Just ordered my Speedtech 3.0 this morning, hope to make the Singer change her note.

With seats/straps it will really be sick. By the way the hood/headlights are really growing on me- if only the PD were fans. Let me know if you need clean dry storage for your current seats- rumor has it they fit in the 996-

Thanks EH!

Too bad you won't have that new X-pipe installed in time for Laguna on Monday. I guess you won't be putting around the exit of T5 with me, no excuses then

Almost pulled the trigger on seats while I was there. BBI actually had a customer car in the shop with the seats I really wanted and we were able to test fit them in my car. Unfortunately, they were too wide at the shoulders (flares) and they hit the door panels. Also the harness openings in the seat were too low for my shoulders by about 3.0"...not good. This also caused the harness to dip down while going through the holes and then jet back up to go over my shoulders.

Overall I'm extremely pleased with the end result and the way BBI accommodated by needs, design input, finish request, as well as the "open-arms" treatment I was given at the shop on Friday. Wish they were closer to SJ, They deserve more of my business.

The Roll Bar looks amazing with natural sun light, almost chameleonish but mono-toned! Its way cool the way the color shifts within the cabin. Some areas are jet black chromey, some are gunmetal chromish, and the "hot light" areas look like pewter chrome.....its very cool... and definitely very unique. The car actually feels really balanced/complete/whole. Its not stiffer, its not more rigid, or harsh. it just feels as "one"....its smoother and feels connected "fore to aft". Not a single rattle or clunk the whole way home. I just love the fact you can't really see it at all as you approach the vehicle...its completely stealth.

Endless Brake Fluid flush scheduled for Friday and a new set Pagid RS19's. Laguna once again on Monday. Lets hope for a dry track and clear sky's!

We had a fantastic day at Laguna 04.09.2012.

Clear, sunny sky's and in the mid 60's. It was a bit chillier in the morning, still in the 40's.

Highlights: a McLaren MP4-12C showed up and ran in the open passing group. Very cool car to see in person and out getting pushed around. I was behind it at one point. When he hit the brakes I thought his rear deck lid came undone, then I remembered it was just the AIR BRAKES!!!

On a sad note: My friend's GT3RS 4.0 lost its engine...not good...first day out on the track...ugh, to say the least.

Yup...5th to 2nd...its easy to do. Front straight downshifting in preparation for T2.

I avoid fifth at all cost. It completely screws me up every time I "brain fade" and accidentally go there.
