So they would've had to re-align your car after installing the C/O's...correct? That could be were your track varies from ours????

I suppose. Only way to explain it. Although I still don't know how alignment would affect the offset to that degree. Changes in camber, etc can help accommodate a wider wheel/tire, but my setup was INSET into the wheel well a good deal. Perhaps a more knowledgeable member can chime in here.

I have a fairly mild negative camber alignment on front and have never had any rubbing issues.

I sounds to me that you may have dropped your suspension a bit too much. I was told at the time I did my coilovers (Billy B16) that any more than ~1.1" of drop would compromise the car for the street and could lead to rubbing. It may not look as cool as some of the really slammed cars but I don't have to worry about anything either...except for the front lip!

Ed,
Let me see if I have this straight:
20" installed (What was the offset and width of those wheels?)
Coilovers installed and alignment done.
You're back to running GT-2 19" (9" Front, 12" rear with 51 and 53 offsets).
No alignment done after going back to 19" GT-2 wheels.
Is that about right?

I have GT3RS wheels (8.5/51, 12/53)
Can I assume you're getting at that I should have had the alignment redone after switching back to 19's? As far as I know, simply changing the diameter of the wheels does not necessitate a realignment. And again, I'm not sure how doing so would affect wheel offset to such a degree.
Dunno who's right here, but I'm not aware of GT2 wheels being different widths that RS wheels??

^^^ Ed, I'm with you here (on them being 8.5's). I think they switched to 9.0's on the 2011 GT2RS as well as the GT3RS. Or possibly whenever the 997.2 came out.
PS: Hope you enjoy your Father Day as well!

^^^ Hey Ed, Mine was pretty amazing! Saturday morning my wife asked me to pack up the truck with all my "track stuff" because she wanted to head down to Monterey with our daughter and might just spend the night to meet me at the track early Sunday morning. After I got it all packed up, she surprised me with 2 killer rooms in Carmel with insane ocean views and Sunday was spent rippin' around Laguna Seca!
View from the Bar:
Prosciutto Quartet to die for. Duck, Beef, Pork, and I forgot what the other one was.
The drive to track at 6:30 am up the coast was very picturesque to say the least.

Essentially correct. Widths of the 20's were 9 and 12. Offsets escape me.

I think it is possible that the diameter and offset of your 20's may have required the camber to be adjusted (either positive or negative) in such a way that it now causes the rubbing on your 19's. If it's now rubbing on the inside it may be too much negative camber and on the outside too much positive camber. I really can't come to any good conclusion.
I misspoke as mine are the same as yours...

No, not suggesting or implying, just making sure I understood correctly because it doesn't make sense to me.

View from the deck off our room. On the far right side of the image you can see a trapezoidal structure hanging off a cliff in the trees, that's the bar / restaurant area where I took the pictures from above. This image was stitched together from 3 snap shots I took from my iPhone. Definitely a very cool place. I need to go back so I can enjoy more of it on a non-track day i.e. sleep in and take in the views.
My daughter huckin' a Goldfish ******* to a Seagull on our deck at the Highlands Inn in Carmel. Crazy iPhone Captures!!!!!
