Video: GT2 RS vs ZR1 vs GT-R vs LFA
This GT2RS might not be in good health?
i think this test is wrong!!!
see here in the real life my personal expirience with ZR1 stock!!!

my Turbo PDK has 580/590hps 0-300km/h in 30,7s on RACELOGIC and my car NEVER IS MORE FAST OF 997GT2RS!!!

If you want the outcome of a race to end up a certain way, there are plenty of ways to do it.
Totally agree.
have to agree-- the delta between GTR and GT2RS lap time on this type of track is just silly.
i've generally believed there's no outright conspiracy to make certain cars win in these races, more of, the skill of the drivers is simply not at the same level.
Seiji Ara (GT2RS driver) won LeMans in 2004, and has raced in many other prominent series... but he's probably not the fastest guy out there, AND the several appearances of his i've seen in Best Motoring, he always seems pretty conservative. unlike Tsuchiya or GanSan for instance, who just leave it all out there and go for broke.
this race however is apparently the LAST Best Motoring race ever, as the series has just been cancelled. its a shame, considering they've been around for a staggering 24 years. so this is the last we'll see of Tsuchiya and the rest of the gang, doing these types of races.
for THAT reason alone, i'm inclined to believe they wanted the series to take a bow, with the most iconic of all JDM's, doing well.
R.I.P. Best Motoring (1987-2011)

What a joke. Even a complete mug knows a bad driver can never deliver a good outcome. This is like a typical best motoring vid.....where the japanese cars reign king and the bad old useless porsches loses...and pretty well against anything for that matter. I'm surprised they didnt add a pushbike into the mix and have that beat the GTRS as well. Maybe next vid.

lol....just finished watching all this and it is just more bs from these morons. I remember in the original tests between the 996tt and the jdm's how the jdm's were all on track slicks while the 996tt, and the 360 were on worn out street tires.
In reference to the GT2RS time attack straight way acceleration, I have seen tach needles climb faster in a stock 996tt in 4th and 5th gear. Something tells me someone was not depressing the go pedal as far as they should have been. I also liked how in some points the driver was letting the rpm's go down to just over 2k. Who does that on a road course? unless they want to loose.

FYI, Aust Motor Mag lists the fastest car 0 - 1000m currently held by the 997GT2.1 at 21.2sec @256.3kp/h. I imagine the new RS will be faster again?
0-400 the Porsche 911turbo PDK holds the fastest time at 11.03@205.6km/h. The TTS is second at 11.04@208.5kp/h.

The GT2RS gets beat in JAPAN by the new GTR but the slower std GT2 Stomps the GTR with 100 bhp less in a non partisan video...lol

The GT2RS gets beat in JAPAN by the GTR around the their track, yet around the Nurburgring the std GT2 beats the GTR on a slightly wet track. The driver said he could not go all out in the GT2 because of the wet, but he could in the GTR with awd, yet the GT2 won...lol

Top gear australia compared both and once again the GTR looses outside of Japan...lol

GTBOARD compares GTR to 997GT2 standard and oh yeah guess who wins...GT2...oh yeah, that's right the race wasn't in japan.

There is only one conclusion from this...lying and cheating is the way and has been. Just like the original 996tt comparo done in japan against the JDM's...all the JDM's had track tires, yet the turbo won...lol...talk about unfair advantage. lies lies lies once again

Had it been a stock 996 GT2, it would've got it's doors blown off.
As far as laptimes go, the '09-11 GT-R (on runflats) seems to be slower on average than the standard 7GT2 (out of 26 lap times, the GT2 is faster on 16 of them).http://www.fastestlaps.com/compariso...ssan_gt-r.html
The GT2 RS is faster than the '09 to '11 GT-R (on runflats) in 5 of 6 lap times here: http://www.fastestlaps.com/compariso...97_gt2_rs.html
The 2012 GT-R (on runflats) is certainly faster than it's predecessors, so it will no doubt fair better than they did against the GT2s as it gets more track tests under it's belt.
To me, the two cars are so different it's very difficult to compare them. The GT2 is a very focused, very light, very expensive car that excels around road-courses. The GT-R is a better all-arounder, 800 lbs heavier, and half the cost. Both have their strong and weak points, but both of them happen to be truly great cars.
