Clutch questions

I have searched through the forum for info on this and am still a bit cloudy. I have a 2011 Turbo with a 3000 miles, a 6 speed and that has been lightly modded (flash, headers and Tubi) and I clearly have clutch slippage issues when launched hard. This is not an issue when I drive it like my wife does, but very evident (smell, smoke, instantly rising tac with no increase in speed) when I drive it like "I THINK" it was meant to be. This problem just showed itself this weekend. So far my experiance has been that the car is a bit delicate but maybe the problem is that I am too heavy handed. As it is my wife chastises me evertime I accelerate hard or break 2000 rpm as she thinks the car cannot take it. Or did my mods get me in trouble? Any thoughts?

Also, since I assume the clutch repair will be a warranty claim should I just stay with the factory clutch or look into an upgrade/

Thanks all

Be careful with "assume" ... clutches are considered wear items just like brakes. So unless you can prove a defect I doubt P will warranty that.

If you're hot rodding it and you have a tune, you should look into an upgraded clutch setup.

I think the stock clutch can handle about 550-580tq. You're making more than that with your mods (85tq gain). Buy a new, stronger clutch and call it a day. The $3500 you'll spend will allow you to finally see all the gains you payed with your mods.

definately no warranty love, you have overtaxed the stocker, replace with a heavier duty setup and you will be fine.

Thanks for the info guys, I guess its just another reason to make some mods to the car, not that I was short reasons already. I was told that the mods would have no negative effect on the car and that they would really just enhance it and make it like the factory really intended.

Look around the room and try and identify the village idiot. If hes not easy to identify its most likely you. This represents me quite well.
