Wolfe is infamous around these parts
(what to buy)

I want to keep my first Porsche purchase to ~$75k. What do you recommend I buy? An older higher mileage (relative) Turbo or a C4S? I plan to drive it almost daily and put ~10k miles on it per year.

I currently DD a Jeep SRT8 and I also have a '99 WS6 I bought in college that I barely drive ~15k miles.

I plan to drive the Porsche most days, except for bad snow days. I will most likely keep the Jeep and the other commuter car my wife drives now for the bad weather.

I am not "pressed" yet to buy one, should I wait a year or so and snag a 991 C4S?

Also, I have two young children so I need the backseats for day care/school duty.

07 997tt 6speed.. and save 5-6k for an exhaust and flash... and never turn back as it will be the most exciting car of your life! the 997tt is my daily driver in the rain or snow; I can say that i will probably own a porsche for the rest of my life after getting into the family. As for a backseat? I guess you can call it that, I tell people its the "skinny test" its a small seating for long trips but the kids can manage!

1) A 991 C4S will be nowhere near 75K .

2) The 75K choice comes down to a used Turbo vs a used c2S .
The AWD C4S has the widebody appeal yet it lacks the agility of the C2S and it doesn't have the Hp of the Turbo .

So ... it really comes down to your taste and style of driving . If you want a more precise throttle with a modern PCM of gadgets and like the nimble drive of a lighter car the c2S is a great DD.

On the other hand if you don't care about the dated PCM of the older Turbo and want a sledgehammer type of acceleration .. then the turbo is the choice. One additional cost factor with the turbo is that upgrades dramatically enhance the car . They are not cheap (bringing the car over the 75K limit) and you are late to the 997.1 Turbo party . Also with the Turbo it does requiire more front end clearance as a DD . On the other hand the Gt1 engine is legendary and the Turbo is greatness .
