I believe this is only going to affect cars built between May 18, 2009 and September 17, 2010. Mine was built after that date so maybe I'm going to be lucky. Time will tell.

The wheels arent recalled, they are installing new center locking nuts with the updated torque spec inscribed on them and inspecting the hubs, If damage or premature wear is seen then parts may be replaced. Similar to the previous bulletin about using a higher torque spec on racing circuits. 600Nm instead of 500Nm
Retrofitted center locking wheels and tequipment wheel bolts are also included.

This is what the recall notice says, "DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE CENTRAL LOCKING HUBS AND WHEELS WITH AN IMPROVED DESIGN, FREE OF CHARGE."

This is the notice: http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/recalls/recallresults.cfm?start=1&SearchType=QuickSearch&r cl_ID=11V285000&summary=true&prod_id=1171775&Print Version=YES

Also, "THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT YET PROVIDED AN OWNER NOTIFICATION SCHEDULE. OWNERS MAY CONTACT PORSCHE AT 1-800-767-7243."

I called my dealer in Houston and was told that "as of right now your car is not involved in this recall" after giving my VIN.

How's things going mhh?

Mine goes in last week of June. Do they need to take the wheels off? If so I'm looking forward to see how "easy" it is to do.

What have you got on the clock now?

I just talked to the dealer. They said that they will need to inspect the suspension as well. They inspected another car earlier this week and found damage to the suspension so they're being very careful with this issue. I will drop off my car next week and keep everyone updated.

Doc Will, anything more specific on that suspension damage? I'm going over in my head how some CLs can be the root cause for some damage to the suspension bits.

By the way I saw four, count them four, turbo eses the other day in swinging London and none had CLs. Guess they were all smart about the CLs; all were wearing new shoes. Guess they all stopped by the Auto-Cobblers when they were purchased.

Seeing such things really whets my appetite on getting a turbo s but I have vowed to wait for the next model. Oh and getting that 959S for the Targa Newfoundland, and Gumball.
