Hoosier R6 by far the best choice for DOT R Compound tire. I use 235X35X19" front and 295X30X19" rear ( I use 295 vs. 305 rear due to cost and I can't tell any performance difference ) on my 997.1 TT. Only other choice in 19" R comp is Toyo R888 and MPS Cups...Toyo's not near as good of performance, but last a little longer and Cups just too expensive for me.

Trofeos

If you are lucky enough to find them I would suggest Trofeos or R888's. Sport Cups take for ever and a day to warm up and are very expensive. Trofeos will be the new king of the block if Pirelli can get their production up and running.

I have not used the Trofeos but the data I have read indicates it is one hell of a tire. They are defintely cheaper than Corsa Systems and was pretty certain they are cheaper than MCS's. There are only two distributors and they are on backorder. If you want to try them definitely put them on the "list".

Good luck - IMO I would choose R888's over MSC's.

Has anone tried the Pirelli Trofeos on track who has also used Hoosier R6's? How do they compare? What is the pricing like ( the Pirelli Corsa "system" is VERY expensive and not really a practical track tire due to cost )?

Really liked my MPS Cups at track on Monday (THill). Warmed up within first lap along with brakes. Rears are showing wear already but held fantastically on a hot day/track. I'm using standard 18" 996tt size and price was right.
