She's almost here

Ok, so I finally found the perfect 997 TT, PPI scheduled then a trip to test drive her before shipping her back to CA. Have a few questions and where else to go but 6speed.

Facts:

-07 TT with many desirable mods, will post details once I officially own
her.
-Has a 93 Softronic tune
-Originally a CA car

Questions:

- Has anyone purchased an out of state car with less than 7500 miles? CA DMV states the car will still be considered a new car. If so what if any limitations on having the car registered?

-Should I concerned about the car passing smog with the tune and Tubi Street exhuast?

-Found a few SF bay area gas stations with 94 octane, I'm assuming this will not affect the 93 tune?

Thanks for reading hopefully my next post will be a "just bought a 997TT" thread.

I passed smog with EPL tune and Milltek (sport) so yours will probably be ok as well. If not you may need to pick up a "take off" from several of the available units around here or eBay. 94 gas will be great, but you may need to tune for 91 if the 94 isn't always available.

Keep us posted and good luck!

Steven1- looks like NY regestration/smog requirements are based on CA's, good news.
Etchhead- thanks for the input. Part of the reason I ask is I have not made a decision with the seller on whether or not to take the OEM equipment with the car.

Tom, glad to hear you're close to finding your car.

On passing smog, you may have problem passing CA smog not due to emissions but with some tunes it's difficult to hold the car steady at the required RPM level for smog machines. The Tubi exhaust won't be a problem.

I would suggest that you find a Softronics dealer who is willing to swap your tune from 93 to 91 so it's easier to find gas around here. If you do that, flash the car back to stock first to get the smog done then load the 91 file.

Good luck with your potential purchase!

Thanks John, excited, losing sleep you know how it goes.

I will receive the stock file with the purhcase also I spoke to Softronics and they did provide me a quote for the 91 tune, at a reasonable price. Thanks for you input and PM sent.
