I see radar mentioned but not laser.....

The term does not include a ham radio, band radio, </TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top width=65><META name=PGLN contents="1-16"></TD><TD vAlign=top width=615 colSpan=2>or similar electronic device.</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top width=65><META name=PGLN contents="1-17"></TD><TD vAlign=top width=615 colSpan=2>(b)A person, other than a law enforcement officer in the </TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top width=65><META name=PGLN contents="1-18"></TD><TD vAlign=top width=615 colSpan=2>discharge of the officer's official duties, may not use, attempt to </TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top width=65><META name=PGLN contents="1-19"></TD><TD vAlign=top width=615 colSpan=2>use, install, operate, or attempt to operate a radar interference </TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top width=65><META name=PGLN contents="1-20"></TD><TD vAlign=top width=615 colSpan=2>device in a motor vehicle operated by the person.</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top width=65><META name=PGLN contents="1-21"></TD><TD vAlign=top width=615 colSpan=2>(c)A person may not purchase, sell, or offer for sale a </TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top width=65><META name=PGLN contents="1-22"></TD><TD vAlign=top width=615 colSpan=2>radar interference device to be used in a manner described by </TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top width=65><META name=PGLN contents="1-23"></TD><TD vAlign=top width=615 colSpan=2>Subsection (b).</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top width=65><META name=PGLN contents="1-24"></TD><TD vAlign=top width=615 colSpan=2>(d)A person who violates this section commits an </TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top width=65><META name=PGLN contents="2-1"></TD><TD vAlign=top width=615 colSpan=2>offense.An offense under this subsection is a Class C </TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top width=65><META name=PGLN contents="2-2"></TD><TD vAlign=top width=615 colSpan=2>misdemeanor.</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top width=65><META name=PGLN contents="2-3"></TD><TD vAlign=top width=615 colSpan=2>SECTION 2. It's amazing that they can just throw in the words "laser device" to be associated with radar. I would hope a lawyer could beat that.

I thought that since laser light falls under the FDA instead of the FCC that a law couldn't be made against jamming it until the FDA declared it illegal. Interesting. I wish I knew more about how the legal/law system worked.

 

No different then some of the states trying to say jamming is interfering with a officer while doing his duty.
I am waiting to see how the fines work out before I re-install mine or just sell them. I took them off my 04 before I sold it. They were on only 4-5 months. Got a few jams in Mexico and testing went well.

 

I have the 9500CI and have had great saves and results for the last three years. No tickets. A great radar, laser system.

I have a Laser Star "parking assist" device. Apparently it interferes with police laser - bummer. "Officer - that was not my intention".
