I too feel my ex-BMW M3 DCT is faster than the PDK, but I'm not sure if it is the reaction of the paddle or the gear shift speed.

The shifts, especially the 1-2 shift, just don't happen when I want to in manual mode. The other less important complaint is feeling the shifts. In the more aggressive settings in the M3 you can really feel the shifts, made it very sporty. The PDK feels like a regular automatic all the time.
I understand . This is not the case with my 997S . Now it is true that in manual mode without the "sport" or "sport plus" setting it does take more time . It was explained that the normal setting even in manual mode is geared more towards a luxury setting for smooth shifting . In "sport" the shift is faster . In "sport plus " it's instant . Most of the guys in the 997 section opt for the "sport" setting in manual mode which is what i happen to like .

I also noticed that during break in period the PDK seemed to evolve and become more perceptive of my personal driving style . several others commented about this as well . I never asked about it .

I don't know how many miles you have on the car , or how much varied driving you have done but if the car is new you might get a chance to test it more (comparing the settings) but at the same time document it with the service advisor .

Please let us know the outcome .

I came from a 2011 E90 M3 and a 2011 E93 M-DCT, and now have a 2009 C2S. I agree with Periokid's impressions, M-DCT is way more responsive in normal driving. I find that in manual mode w/ sport plus over 4000rpm, PDK works ok, although is still a little slower to respond. M-DCT is overall faster and crisper. The paddles have a shorter throw, and they feel better when you are pulling them, although I like the size and shape of the PDK paddle.

In Sport Plus, I still get a decent lag. (I've switched to the paddle style wheel)

I too had a E9X M3 with DCT and the paddle shifts were faster- and my GTR also has faster paddle response. Oh well, love the PDK none the less.
