Question for you guys upgrading your exhausts. Are you keeping your old oem one in case you want to sell the car later with a stock exhaust or letting the shop trash it?

Does having a performance exhaust have a negative effect on resale?

The europipe box was such a work of art, i stuffed it in there and saved it. I am a graduate of the "you never know" school.

Yeah, me too. Was just wondering if the shop would look at me like I was crazy if I made the request or if the old exhaust would even fit in the turbo to bring it back home, or if I would have to come back with another car to get it

I will definitely be keeping my stock exhaust as I do with any OEM part I replace.

Definitely keep the stock system. You won't get paid any extra for the car with the exhaust plus generally speaking stock cars are far more attractive on resale to the wider market. Everyone likes to think they are buying a virgin.

I had my P dealer pack my stock exhaust in the EP box and am storing it at my place... it's not that big really... if I ever have to sell the car and I'm not offered extra for the EP, then it's coming off to be sold individually....

Any interest in seeing an EP1 side by side with a Techart????

Why not. If you've got the two to line up that is. Eitherway i'd have no regrets with the EP. I'd take it over the Techart anyday .

Yes, do the side by side....always interest in such a comparison. However, make sure cold start crap is off by just starting, turning off after a minute and then restarting the engines. Looking forward to comparison.

Thanks for the positive responses for keeping the oem. Wasn't sure if it was a no brainer as I haven't seen anyone mention it or if I was being a worry wort.

With a side by side comparison starting from 40mph or 60mph or whatever you'll be 2 car lenghts ahead within seconds. And that's because of the added tq and hp...

I hope this helps someone... I highly recommend the EP1... it's much louder during cold start BTW, and note the addictive turbo whistle (which kicks in at 1500RPM, and boost comes on by 1800-1900RPM!!!!!!)

Hi,

I´m going to install Stage 1 in my car and I have done the following with your video. I have isolated the first part ( stock exhaust ) and the second part ( Europipe ). Using a very simple software ( Audacity ) I have created a spectrum file for both. In red you see the EP an in blue the stock. What you see is much more sound in the low frequencies. Also the level of sound is higher. About 2.5 dB at around 170 Hz.

Of course this is not how things should be done in a scientific way, but I just thought that it was nice to share with all of you.

Regards,
