What oil temp before punching it?

What is a safe oil temp to achieve before really getting on throttle?

I usually wait until 175 F but don't REALLY push it until like 190 ish.

Opinions? Facts? Thanks.

Curious to hear opinions on this as well. I'm assuming the answer is "oil at full temp" before punching it (190+ depending on weather conditions), but here's a thought that complicates it:

Car has been driven for a while and the oil is a full temp. The car is then turned off for 10 min. Start the car back up for additional driving and the oil temp has fallen below 175, because it's so efficient at cooling down. Does this mean it already requires an easy mile or two before giving it the throttle again? I would have a hard time believing it's that fragile.

Interested in hearing perspectives...
