I'd always heard C4S brakes like on my prior 997.1 '08 model was same as on turbo of same generation

But feels like my new '12 997.2 turbo brakes are significantly better. Seems to bite harder, faster, and slows car lot quicker. Is this just my mind playing tricks while I'm in new car honeymoon mode, brakes for 997.2 cars gotten much better than 997.1, or turbos have always had different/better brakes than non-turbos of same generation?

 

C4S four piston Turbo six piston front calipers, the only thing common is the red paint.
