Request - GMG sport muffler only sound audition in socal

Down to a final few choices for better sounding exhaust for my 997.2 TT.

Not concerned about power gain (don't want power loss obviously, but for gain if I ever decide to do that I'll go the whole muffler + sport cat + flash option later).

One I'd very much like to hear personally is what GMG advertises on website as 2010 997.2 3.8 Turbo WC-GT exhaust muffler

It's a slip-on only that keeps stock OEM cats. I've managed to find only 2 youtube clips but unclear whether it was the whole system, or muffler only, and what other mods the car might have had. That partially concerns me because with Cargraphic and AWE, my other two finalists, there are tons and tons of enthusiasts clips.

Obviously personal live audition is critical, but its nice to see so many enthusiasts putting their CG / AWE clips online. Given how much GMG advertises on this board, surprised me there's basically zero video clips out there.

Any socal 6speeder have this setup and willing to let me get a sound audition?

Although I changed my Turbo's factory exhaust for better sound, a significant functional advantage is most after-market exhausts replace the factory's 600 cell count with 200 or even 100 cell cat converters.
The reduction in back pressure is critical to improving turbo response as the difference in pressure is how the turbine is driven, especially if you are going to tune the ECU later on. You might not plan for an ECU tune now, but never hurts to prepare for the possibility.

In other words, if you are going to pay this much for an exhaust, IMHO it's a good idea to look for one that replaces the cat converter as well. Both AWE and Cargraphic use 200 cell cat converter, and so did the GMG exhaust for 997.1 Turbo I thought.

I haven't listened to this version of GMG exhaust for 997.2, only the 997.1 Turbo's unit. Very exciting & very aggressive sound, with lots of low frequency rumbling which I love, but also very loud. It was the loudest of the 5 after-market exhausts that I have auditioned. I would definitely recommend an in person audition (don't trust internet sound clip for *any* exhaust, very deceptive).

I dont have a 997.2TT but I have their WC-GT exhaust on my 997.1TT. Car sounds fantastic with deep rumbles at idle and under WOT, she sounds like an angry BEAST.

If you want to hear her, I will be up in the Costa Mesa on 11/25 - 11/27 and I'll be more than happy to show you.

We have a car we are doing on Monday you are more than welcome to stop by the shop at that time.

In terms of the exhaust system we elected to only do the muffler for the 997.2 Turbo and Turbo S models. The reason being was to maintain the factory warranty on the cars and to comply with Ca emissions.
We are introducing a 200 cell cat upgrade for those who want the extra performance and aren't concerned with warranty or emissions.

Sound is improved over stock but not as loud as the 997.1 system

We just did 2 Turbo S cars for clients who will also have them out at our track day.

I will plan mount some Go Pro's on these cars so you can hear the exhaust at full sound ripping down the front straight at Willow Springs.

The track day is Dec 1 if you need more info on that or would like to come out and participate.

Feel free to email me directly.
