08 997 TT Seat Memory

I have tried the manaul settings, online settings, and also cayman settings as per some posts online. I cannot get the seats to program on any memory setting or with the key. Every time it goes to the preset memory setting with key #1. Can anyone please assist with correct directions. I have tried the m twice to reset, holding both together, and also both together with the key. Lastly tried with holding both buttons twice and then locking with the key and holding for 60 seconds as per the cayman. Any help please as I have to move the seat every time I get in.

Thank you

Interesting problem - not sure why you thought the Cayman procedure would work though. The owner's manual spells it out in detail (although I admit it is confusing). Were you able to clear the stored seat position?
1) Switch on ignition with desired key
2) Press memory button twice and key button 1 once consecutively.

Now try to program again:
1) Switch on ignition with desired key (make sure reverse gear is not engaged)
2) Set desired seat and door mirror postions
3) Keep memory button depressed and press key button 1.

Let us know if this works.

I was unsuccessful. I appologize for my ignorance but can you please clarify.
When you state memory button, is the the m button or the preset key on the door

Key button 1 , is this on the door or the key specifically?

Secondly, of what interval do i need to hold them down together? How long?

If using the specific key how long should i hold it down?

How long do i want in between clearing the memory and attempting to reprogram? Can it be done in same ignition switch on?

Again if you can break out exact keys, and steps. I apologize but thank you for the help. Yes I must be an idiot....

I have not found it necessary to clear before re-programming the seats.

Turn the ignition to on (you don't have to start the engine, tranny in neutral).
Put your seats and mirrors in whatever position you like.
On the door, press the memory bar and whatever memory button (1, 2, or 3) you want to save that seat and mirror setting to (I hold it in for a couple of seconds...it sure would be nice if you got some indication that it happened).

If you use memory position 1 that will become the default position for whichever key is in the ignition. Yes, there is a key 1 and a key 2 and the keys know which one they are. You can have a different default for each key if you desire.

You cannot set the memory while the car is moving, at least not in my car...an '07.
