Why did you buy Porsche instead of

Ferrari or Lamborghini. Particularly F430 and gallardo.

Obvious reasons from turbo owners are ability to be daily driver, back seats, ability to put some miles on car without killing resale value, attracts less attention, better build quality, less expensive to maintain, and faster (997.2 TT and TT S or modded 997ttt), and being part of the Porsche community (Pca, poc, etc)

Italian cars are money pits, the only reasonable choice for ME is Porsche or Corvettes. Although a hopped up Ford GT would be nice. Corvettes can be built up inside and out to last long, look great, perform fantastic.

Ferraris and Lamborghini simply cant compare! And you even have a back seat. Italian cars are a little more costly to maintain.

Daily driver capability in a super car, all wheel drive, resale, p-car community, appliance like durability, less conspicuous, way more options on service, modifications..........

All the reasons stated above, with particular emphasize on less flash and arguably better performance.. all at a lower cost.

German engineering is far superior. Although Italy is the style center of the universe(cars, motorcycles, clothes, shoes etc) Germany is the engineering center of the universe, and has been for 100+ years. It's already been stated here, but bang for the buck gets high marks, and I personally love the infinite choice of mods.

Because doing this in the cars stated is almost impossible, sorry for the poor photo quality. That is 200.00 worth of groceries going into the bonnet space aloneName: IMAG0421.jpg

The bonnet space is like the Tardis Dr. Who has. Looks small from the outside but not once you get in.

My main reason is Porsches still have an additional pedal to the left of the brake.

Mind you the "bonnet" is not big enough to fit a body, but plenty big to fig a horse's head :-) Just couldn't resist. To be frank, my favorite car, ever, is the 512 Berlinetta Boxer. After that I love the 288 GTO, Daytona, 458, 250 GTO and my favorite F1 team is Ferrari. But, I have never bought or owned a Ferrari but have owned 3 Porsches and have driven pretty much all of them (except the GT2 RS). My favorite race cars outside of F1 are Porsches. The 917, 956, 935 and 962 to name a few.

The main thread in what I choose to drive and in particular the Porsche cars that I bought (all 911s) was the singular pursuit of form following function. As a 911 designer once called the 911 a mathematical equation that happened to appeal to the psyche because of the company's relentless refinement over 40 years.

That combined with the driving dynamics have always drawn me to Porsches and the 911 in particular.

Happy hunting.

I did not consider anything from Lambo simply becasue it is too flashy for my purpose. I bought this car as a dream car fulfilling a dream I have had since I was 17 years old. Always loved the 911 Turbo. I did test drive the Ferrari California and it is a very sharp looking, nice car but it felt very similar to me to the XJS V12 in that it felt like if I pressed it too hard I would break it. I drove the Maseratti MC (Special Addition with loads of CF everywhere). Liked the look of the car, a big plus was the 2 back seats for kids. Nice exaust sound, good looks just left me flat on performance.

For me once I drove the base 911 4S I knew it was the car for me. Solid feel, great handling, and great gear box. I conttinued sampling the range and became further addicted until we got to the TTS. At that point I was totally and completely sure this weas the car for me. I like that most of the world can't tell the difference between a TTS and an base 911.

I agree with what was said above.
I also like the PCA and the many wonderful people that get involved over the season. Lots of track time for learning how to drive this wonderful car.
All instructors, support staff, and groupies love the Porsche cars.
So many to share the fun with.
Porsche has such a strong and long racing history not seen by other marques.
