Conical Seat Lug Bolt help
Conical Seat Lug Bolt help
I have a 2008 997tt. My 3piece wheels will be here this week and I found out I need "Conical seat" lug bolts for the wheels. Can anyone help me out with the size i need?? thanks!
Generally speaking 28-30mm bolts are the correct size. It is crucial that you verify this with the manufacturer. It's obvious that you could lose a wheel if you don't have enough thread contact.
IMO and from my Experience, conical bolts need to be re-tightened and torqued again once (that same day after driving) or twice (in a few days) after putting them on. Again, that's just my experience.

Yes that's right. Bolts that are too long don't help much because they go through the threaded part of the hub/disc. They can make contact with the parking brake in the rear causing a clicking sound at slow speeds. I do suggest getting a few mm (may 2-3 longer than required but no much more than that). Good Luck!
