Look how the the guy took care of it ,, I would not buy it,, Remember you get what you pay for and sounds like you will end up paying more in the long run. Look around, Took me 4 months to find my turbo. Great price, amazing condition, PPI passed with flying colors and CPO car.. Just my 2 cents.......

You said it yourself. Sounds like you're trying to convince yourself otherwise. The metallic valve noise would concern me. That is not normal. You have a choice to shell out $58K and pray nothing is seriously wrong or walk away with $58K still in your pocket and piece of mind.

My initial response is exactly the same. That said, does the owner now have every single receipt? Has it been cared for its whole life? A PPI with a leak down and a DME readout of the computer will tell you all that you need to know. Know also that you are going to have a hell of a time selling this when you are done with it b/c its going to be an outlier. Be sure that this is a purchase for a long time...now that said, if its a long time purchase, why not step up to a better car? Just saying.

spend a bit more and have the piece of mind of knowing everything is good, if someone let it get scratched up, curbed, and dinged then chances of them taking care of it are slim. The airbag light is common we've had 3 turbos and 2 of them have had airbag light come on a couple times. but the brakes and tires alone would run you around $2-3k then the paint work, and the heater repair, all that is $$$

i know you guys are right... damn.. im going to call orlando porsche for all the service records and i would love to check the dme print out... Can i buy this tool and use it to scan? or does it have to be brought to someone?

I would be keeping the car a very long time.. so motor is really what concerns me.. the other stuff i think im really making too much of a big deal... regardless ill take some pix and post them if i can...

its all about the dme print out and over revs for now.. if that turns up ok, which i really have a feeling it wont, then i'll have to hold off a bit.. maybe wait another yr.

i really appreciate all the help, keep it coming.. i must say though, the car is such an animal,,, i went w my mechanic friend and we looked/played w it more than an hr... i cant believe how fast the car is (dare i say it) compared to my previous 335i) lol.. but w no tool to read for over revs im still going no where w this.. so where to acquire this tool?

Do a search on cars.com. I just did another this morning after catching up on this thread. When you consider the tires alone, you could save buying one in similar condition with new tires.

I'm assuming since it's posted here, the car is a turbo...but then again the OP wasn't exactly confiming that in his response.

A car treated so poorly is indicative of abuse. I wouldn't buy it even if you perform your due diligence you might miss something and it will come back to bite you. As others have mentioned it might be better for you to spend a little more in a turn key car. Good Luck the 997 TT is great and I miss mine!!!

If the OP went to see the car after the PO installed tires and fixed the heat and upped the price 5k, would it be a different car? I for one dont agree with all the negativity. it seems like the proper course of action is to do all the due diligence (record, carfax) then if that checks out, do a PPI.

The PO might not have cared about this car at all so he didnt take car of it but he might not have driven it much either bc he prefered tooling around on his G55 or Avantador or genesis... who knows... we are all guessing anyhow

get a PPI
i would pass on this car.

a 997tt is something that should always be in mint condition.

how careless could an owner be to have a 500+hp car with failing tires ?
what else was neglected ?
pass

I have to agree w all of you.. while I really want the car... and i would take it if the dme was ok... Maybe this isnt the right time.. and i would be settling on the brown interio as i love black.... The cheapest I have seen these cars go for is 80k..(07 6 speed turbo)...
Ill have to wait and maybe pay more for a more pristine car, but still go through this process.. I always keep my cars a very long time.. so i'll wait, get the car I want and mod it..

thanx for all the help.. i'll be on here waiting for another 07 to pop up.. may even have to wait a yr.. but i think thats a better idea anyway....
I gotta say, this car was nuts!

thank you... i mean at this price if the motor is good.. another 5 grand or less its perfect.. thats still a nice savings, but i just feel like something isnt right.. although it did drive amazing....
