E-brake Replacement

Does the rear center console have to be removed to replace the e-brake handle? I know there's a cut out under the handle but not sure if that gives enough access to remove the entire assembly. Thanks.

Just the handle piece or the entire e-brake unit?

To remove the e-brake unit, you must remove the center console. To remove the center console, you must remove the lower portion under PCM as well.

Actually, I'd like to replace just the handle piece. Didn't know that was an option. How do you seperate the handle from the assembly? Also, can you buy just the handle? All I've seen is the entire assembly for sale...

Thanks.

Still looking for some help with this...has anybody replaced just the e-brake handle without pulling the entire assembly? If so, how? Thanks.

It depends on the type of handle - some are easier to remove than others.

Interesting...similar to a golf club grip.

I'm trying to swap this full aluminum handle:

With this leather and aluminum handle:

Can these be r&r'd the same way?
