After owning a 997 tt and a GTR I can attest to the fact that the GTR was faster under 100 mph but the turbo pulls like an animal after 100 mph. Just like the videos.

I agree. My 13GTR will destroy my 09TT from a dig due to its launch control mode but past 3 digits, the TT pulls like the freight train then it's over for the GTR. On the other hand, if I tune the GTR the outcome will be different.

Thats a gt2 kill. I think a turbo would be next to the gtr all the way to 180 plus stock for stock... Keep in mind the gt2 makes a little more power..

We know that the gt2 is a 08 or 09 model and has 530hp stock, but we do not know the year of the gtr. If its 12 or 13 then it makes 530 to 542hp but if its older then its at 480hp.

The top, right hand corner of the video says 485 for the GT-R (should read 480). So it was an '09-'11.

Today a friend of mine came at home with his "new" bone stock 2009 GTR, we did some rolling start runs with my tuned 993TT (I thought the 997TT was not "necessary")

This GTR was very fast but my 993 faster:
- in 2th gear, same,
- in 3rd 993 took one lenght
- in 4rth one more lenght
- in 5th 2 lenghts

I have to say this 993 kills F50, F40, 997GT2 and equals another buddy's ZR1 from 50 to 300.
(and follows an Enzo from 50 to 300, only follows when the Enzo "cuts the air")

Sorry no vids.

The GTR buddy will re-tune his GTR so I will share the following...

Now the questions is, what mods you have? I have to guess you have more than just a simple "tune."

Yes of course!

K24 turbos, full exhaust, cams, copper rings heads gaskets, Blown6 intercooler, rebuilt engine and Ofzky's custom tune. (of course, sachs LFW and little goodies as DRV's, inlet turbos big hoses, etc...)

Dynoed 560 DIN HP, 820Nm and runs 100-200 in 6.7' (4rth + 5th) and 100-300 in 29', all with pumpgas.

But I have to admit the chassis seems from another age when driving back from GTR and 997TT...

Because of a significant weight differential, stock GT-R to stock PDK Turbo, the PDK is quicker. Add a tune and exhaust to each car and the PDK is still quicker. But that's where it ends. The GT-Rs can be, and have been modified FAR beyond any street Porsches on the planet, allowing them to leave all P-cars in the dust in terms of acceleration. I won't even bother going into the power GT-R's can make on pump gas compared to Porsches.

This isn't an attack on Porsche at all. I love Porsche. What it is, however, is a testament to the incredible mod-ability of the GT-R platform.

+ 1 to what Scotts say, just sold my 2011 GT-R as I have gotten into shifter karting need a truck to tow bought a Range Rover SC.

Couldn't keep both due to lack of garage space had to sell one chose to keep the 997TT.

The GT-R DSG GR6 transmission can be modified to handle incredible HP/TQ levels, Porsche PDK transmission not!
Have yet to come across a single vendor package for the Porsche PDK transmission, I know Champion was working on it, have not heard much on progress.

You guys need to try shifter karting it is so much fun, 0-60 3Sec, 0-100 6 Sec, 3G cornering 1/2" off the ground.

That's a great point. If there were options available to build the PDK to handle the same amount of power that built GT-R trannies are able to, it would be a difficult choice for me, choosing between between a GT-R, 997 PDK, and a TTG.

Congrats on the shifter kart, venka. I bet that thing is a absolute blast!
