997 GT3 Wing on a 997 Turbo?

I love the 997 GT3 rear wing. So i was thinking of putting a GT3 Wing on my 997 Turbo. Do you guys think its a dumb idea?

On my 996 Turbo i have a 997 GT2 wing and love it but i was thinking of doing something different on the 997.

Do you think it would look good?
Any other wing ideas?

Thank you

If you plan to drive "at speed" you will need to keep the front and rear downforce balanced least you find the front end becoming floaty, twitchy or worse. This is a significant setup issue for racers whenever they change wings or even the angle of attack and why GT cars utilize splitters and different front fascia than what we have on our oem turbos. Best,

is it a straightforward fit, or do you have to modify anything?

While I love the front of the GT3, I think the Turbo rear wing and GT2 wing look better than the GT3. YMMV

Have you thought about an aero kit either through Porsche or perhaps
TechArt? side skirts and splitter? I had a TechArt aero kit on my C4S which looked amazing. Not sure if you track it or drive a lot of twistie roads. That GT3 wing is going to create a lot of downforce on the rear and while it may not affect the car on the freeway so much it would lighten the front end a bit. Not sure what kind of splitter you have on the front but depending on what you do with the car, that may be of consideration. Everything on my GT3RS including front fascia and splinter is designed with functionality in my mind. it's the setup of the car that is key and also plays a part in safety. If I do change the rear wing on my turbo, I will ensure I buy the right front end aero parts to keep the car well balanced and settled and of course to help it look even cooler!

i guess i just like the look of the GT3 or GT3RS Wing. I do not plan on racing or driving to extreme measures. I would keep the turbo front bumper. Precision Porsche did an awesome job making a 997 GT2 decklid/wing fit on my 996 turbo.

White pic is the GT3 wing, Other one is the GT3 RS wing.

Well both nice choices. Do you know the weight differences between the two? I can tell you that GT3RS wing is better quality all around. I imagine a bit heavier. It is carbon fibre with forged aircraft aluminum struts that are aesthetically pleasing but more importantly designed strictly for function on the track. The GT3 is a street car for the track while the GT3RS is a track car you can use on the street. The sole purpose the GT3RS is built is because Porsche has to have a street legal version for the GT class in racing completions. They have porsche history written all over these amazing cars. I still think you may want to see how the turbo spoiler reacts with that massive wing even if you don't track it. I have a turbo spoiler on my 2010 turbo but there is no way I would put my GT3RS wing on the turbo unless I had the GT3RS front splitter on board. There is a reason Porsche spends big bucks on R&D, wind tunnels etc. to make thrm aerodynamically perfect Not even sure the GT3RS bigger front splitter. Will fit your anyway! Good luck

I have techart body kit all around my 977tt and the only one Thing I think will complete the look is the gt3rs wing. Please direct me to where I can have that put on. Thanks.

rear wing

Doesn't everyone love a whale-tail!? I come from the times of the OLD turbos (late 70's-80's), and the whale-tail MADE the car! Go for it!
