Alignment help needed (light steering feel)

Car in question is a '91 964 Turbo...

Problem: Steering feels light and the car seems to float in the air.

Porsche did an alignment and few weeks later I noticed the left rear has noticeably more + camber (the top of the tire is almost sticking pass the fender well) as compare to the right rear

Any way, since I was bringing the car into an indy porsche mechanic for an another reason, i decided to have him look into that matter as well.

Picked up the car and although the camber looks more balanced but the steering still felt kinda lose & floaty

I am just after driving wives BMW (530i) and I think I now know how to describe the problem

The BMW's steering is as tight as ...you know what I mean even a slightest move of the steering the car follows the movement.

However Porsche's steering has almost 1/4"-1/2" play off the center in either direction I can turn the steering to 11 and 1 o'clock and yet the car goes straight ?

Can some one please help me explain why it's so difficult for these mechanics to figure out the "light steering feel" or " the floaty feel" expression ?

U-Joint vs Tie end rods vs steering rack vs alignment issue ?

Thanks
