Can't refill oil! Dealer provided incorrect crush washers in oil filter kit?
Hey guys,
First time changing the oil on my 2012 Turbo S (1340 miles). I'm disturbed to find after draining the oil that the two washers provided in the oil filter kit from the dealership are not a match for what was on the drain plug.
Are these for the 997.1 or something? I very clearly stated my model year when picking up the filter kit. Also, why are there two? The oil filter cap o-ring fit fine, but I don't see where a second single-use washer is. In the photo, the left washer is the used one, and the two on the right were provided in the kit.
I have searched all across the web and just can't find solid information about this. Some people mention copper rings, others the aluminum alloy, and the .1 vs .2 distinction is often not made clear. Thanks for your help!

You got the 997.1 TT washers. You should use the copper washer 900 123 010 20. The aluminum washer is for the Crankcase of the 997.1 and the copper is on the 997.1 oil tank. The 997.2 TT just uses the copper washer on the crankcase. 37 ft/lbs on the aluminum plug.

OK, great to confirm it's the 997.1 part. Are you sure the 997.2 one is supposed to be made from copper, since the one that came from the factory with my car is definitely not copper?

The factory appears to be aluminum crush washer. I can't explain why, but have seen other 2010+ TTS guys use the copper as well. I know you probably don't want to hear this, but it only seals the plug so just won't cause anything catastrophic unless you over torque it. The plug is aluminum so it should help prevent stripping the pan threads. I wish I had something more reassuring but just check it after a couple days for the formation of a drop at the plug.

According to Suncoast site, looks like they are the same part number.
