I'd say you've got room to negotiate. I listed mine for $80 for a couple of months but would have definitely taken $75 from the beginning. Had all sorts of time wasting going on, but agreed with 3 different prospects on $75 and finally one on $72. None of them ended-up getting their wallets out. I wasn't in a big hurry to sell, but was motivated to bank the cash. Car is 07 Arctic Silver - very clean and 23K miles. Dealers were offering $65 all day. Finally decided that it's too much fun to liquidate so I'm keeping it. Ironically, had someone walked up to me with $68-$69, I'd have thought a lot about it. I think that, like me, once people decide to sell cars, they get into a bit of a fever to get it out the door. I'd assume that this guy feels more like me than you may realize and have a go. If he doesn't like your price, he'll tell you pretty quickly. Or he'll counter.

In fact if the DME and PPI have any issues I won't be buying the car from him. With that said the color combo is what I want, the condition of the car and test drive were excellent and the price is good enough (not great after you add $3k for extended warranty) so I'm willing to put up with his, shall we say, limited customer service skills and take the car in for a full and thorough inspection at a dealership.

Any other things to look for tomorrow before making a final purchase decision?

Thanks!

Thats right good old Horatio. Hes just a guy selling a car so it doesn't really matter unless you're into the whole buying experience. What matters is that the car checks out and your happy with the quality and price.

DME,PPI, Service history including warranty repairs, carfax and paint meter check.

Also note a lot of these "high end" dealers have really good relationships with the local dealers, to ensure the car and you are given an unbiased opinion I would venture out to an indy or a dealer you know is not affiliated with him. If you're going to Rector I can tell you they are affiliated.

Good luck tomorrow.

You've hit everything on the mark, you definitely know the "game". It is rector and they do have a realtionship. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with the lead tech there and he knows horatio. I was comfortable that he would be objective based on our conversation. He outlined the process from DME to paint meter, full mechanical and fluid check as well as reviewed the maintenance history and confirmed that the car was due for new spark plugs.

We'll see how it goes tomorrow. Will post an update when I get back

Thanks for the feedback

Sweet!!!!! Congrats I'm glad it all worked out for you. Bring her home, give her a wash and snap some pics. Now lets see how long you last without modding her

Man it's going to be difficult to hold off on a EP1 exhaust. Watched the vids and the europipe makes the car sound like it looks... Bad ***. The stock exhaust will have to do for a while otherwise wife will kill me for dropping more money on an exhaust this year

Good choice, just do it, tell her afterwards. The sound will overcome the nagging.

Lol, this car is already going to cost me an additional $40k in a new kitchen upgrade in "wife appeasement" fees. If you're married you know what I mean, you want a toy then it's times 2 the cost to keep the wife happy.

I'm in Walnut Creek and should be available early on Saturday or Sunday AM. Tesla Road or something out that way would be fun.
