Did small nail/pin compromise tire?

I had a small nail/pin stuck in my rear tire in the groove area, i.e., between the treads. I pulled it out and noticed it did not completely go through the tire. It went in approximately .2 cm ( 1/16 in.) no air leak at all. I would like to know how thick the rubber is in the groove area and if tire was compromised. I have the OEM pirelli zeroes.

Your fine.. YOu would have had quite a job pulling it out if it had compromised the wire internals and rubber further.

As long as it didn't puncture the tire you will be OK. You can mark the spot with a tire crayon and keep an eye on it for a few days. You can even put a drop of rubber cement over the hole for a bit more peace of mind.
