Wasted a day and a few $ trying to buying the following Bentley only to find out its been in a wreck of some kind.

Seller guaranteed no history no paint and still is quite adamant about that but the pics speak for themselves. I also had a independent body shop inspect the car after I originally inspected due to the sellers request and guarantee that it has not ever been repainted and they also stated the paint reading and their opinion is that the car has not.... But again, nothing explains what I found during my visual other than previous damage.

So what are your thoughts? Are Bentley's just built differently from all other cars OR is the seller full of BS?

Car is at the Amira Auto on consignment or that's what they claim.

Was listed on San Diego CL, eBay, and currently on Manheim.

Bolt has been removed and covered up with touch up paint since it didn't realign:

looks very suspicious, esp the bolts not lining up properly again, but the car is sooo new as well, mustve had an unclaimed incident of some sort

 

Your a smart man! It will sell in no time to a fool at Manheim. Beautiful car dont get me wrong but still dont find the hype in these cars. I have had plenty of seat time in a 2012' Bent GT but it still doesn't do it for me! Heavy slow fat car, no sun roof, no driving experience that comes with it.

 

great loafing around touring car but agree that there is no driving experience with it

just the suspicion alone for me means you need to walk

 

any wholesaler should be able to identify this paint work.

 

Weird things is manhiem gave the car a 4.9 with the no paint history. So much for their reports.

About Bentleys, I'm in a position where I need something that can accommodate a rear facing baby seat still and at the same time exotic/fast/exclusive and under $175k.

My first choice was PTT but that no longer is an option.
Also thinking CL65/63 but haven't found the right one and there aren't many used 2011/12 for sale by private party's.
I love the S65 but don't want to buy it when a new body is coming out.
Aston Martin? Not fond of the Rapide look and to be honest don't know much about the other models yet to purchase one.

Am I missing any other options?

Panamera is a no no since my sibling has one

The c series even though I black series doesn't do much for me.

And for some reason the Maserati front looks like a fish to me.

 

why is the panamera no longer an option? i have a few customers have baby seats in them with the standard seats?

Actually picked up a b7 after the bentley didn't work out from a fellow member.

M5 and M6 are both on my list just waiting for a white one to pop up and for all the glitches to be worked out

Thanks! I'm still a bit confused on how the body shop with a paint meter wasn't able to see the car has had previous repair work but either way I couldn't pull the trigger with that much doubt.

The local BMW dealer has a white M5 coming in soon so ill see how it compares with my previous M5 but I think my past 997TTs spoiled it for all future cars

 

In the picture where you mention that it's "not wax," there is a visible weld there? Is it normally covered up with a rubber liner?

 

Walk away, this definitely looks damaged.

 

You certainly did your due diligence and made the right call to walk from that Bentley...no way those blemishes were there when that car left the factory. Another reason not to trust CARFAX and other reports...
