Was messing around with my friend on his r1 an meant to grab 4 th but ended up grabbing 2nd
.. Quickly noticed as the rpm jumped to 8k engaged clutch n quikley moved out of gear..
Was in sport mode and after I tested 2nd out and all gears again under heavy load and all seemed fine..
My question is is their any way I can tell if I messed anything up ie sound tiking or anything of sort .. I continued to drive for 30 min more to make sure everything was ok and it seemed it was all I can say thank god I didn't blow the motor , as if I did blow the motor I would assume it wouldn't run, I don't hear any unusual ticking like a bad lifter or anything like that all in all I would say the motor sounds fine..
I usually don't do that and that's the first time I e done this to my 997 turbo
I heard rpm jump m 2nd gear engaging but quickly got back on the clutch I also hope I didn't mess up my driveline ..
Any answers would help me feel better bout it , but am worried

This would of been more of an issue if you were going fast & tried to go 1 gear down & then ended up with two i.e. 5th to 2nd or whatever, b/c conservation of momentum!
At Porsche racing school the cars (mostly manual) are driven by people with "limited" experience with manual transmissions. Suffice it to say, there's a few times the cars rpm's are higher than they're supposed to be!
Guys there said they run these cars many days of the year on the track & all the techs pretty much do is tires, brakes, & oil changes.
Your car will go into "limp" mode if it's unhappy, then you need a trip to shop.
