Tiptronic leak

Hey guys

Im new here, wonder if anyone can help me,ive tried to use the search function not much info.

my 2007 997 turbo tiptronic has developed a leak around the gearbox, overnight it leaks about 3 drops of fluid.

car has no warranty main dealer has said £10000 to replace

wondering if anyone eles has had this issue and if theres a way to repair this leak withou replacing the gearbox?

car has only done 28000miles and has full dealer history.

regards

Hey and welcome to the board. I also had a problem with my Tiptronic. There are a couple options you can do to rebuild the trans to hold more power rather than rebuilding it to stock for that price. I suggest you contact Emre for his tiptronic upgrade and have a reputable trans or porsche shop rebuild.

Hope you sort everything out, I know this can be the start of a long dreadful wait but it will all work out. Just try not to drive too hard on it while its leaking.

Sorry to resurrect an older thread but my car developed the same problem. Noticed a few drops of oil on the garage floor (AFTER they replaced a transmission pan gasket from another leak last month) and took it in. Was told the engine side transmission seal was shot and the car needed a new tip transmission! Price: $15K !! Thankfully, the car is still under warranty. Apparently, Porsche doesn't bother just replacing the seal, but rather replacing the entire tranny. I'm not complaining and I'm very thankful to my dealership and Porsche for a great warranty--I basically get a new transmission. But really makes you think about the cost of these cars in the long run (I only have 31K miles on my 07). I don't mind the $1500 spark plugs and $350 oil changes. But these kind of things are nightmarish!
