Anyone with a CL 550 out there

I am thinking about adding a new Mercedes CL 550 to the stable. I'm looking for a 2 door car in the 100 to 125 k range and am open to other suggestions. I'm 6'4" and I looking for a car with a big comfy seat, lots of legroom, and something that is smooth and quite on the freeway.

I had a 2001 CL 500 and loved that car. Very comfortable to drive.

Thanks for your feedback

Mike

That's an excellent car. I had a 2007 CL550, and traded it for a '08 CL63 before going to the turbo.

Of the two mercs, I'd go for the CL550. The 550 is as good as the 63 in just about every way, not quite as showey and without the 63 engine issues.

You could look at the BMW 650I coupe as well.

I had the 650 before the CL's. The 650 power and performance is somewhere between the 550 and the 63. The interior is interesting in a minimalist kind of way but the Cl is more plush and comfortable. I think that for the intended use my vote still goes for the CL550.

Maserati GranTurismo is worth a look. Their rapid depreciation within the first 2 years can make it good value for a fairly exotic car.
Also a Bentley GT is a fabulous ride. And they are both available in cabriolet form.
