New (to me) 997.1 Turbo!
About a year ago I decided to stop dreaming about getting a Porsche some day and actually do it. I thought I was close a few times but ran into significant problems then came here to complain. I had no idea finding "the one" would be so difficult. Last week my new Porsche found me!
A guy ~3 miles from me decided to sell his gently used 2007 Turbo with just over 25k miles to make room in his garage for his new Lamborghini LP560-4 (which he let me take out). It's a manual, has EVERY option I wanted (PCCBs, adaptive sports seats, sports shifter, sports chrono package, and thick sports steering wheel) and ~$25k in GMG gear (exhaust system, springs, sway bars, and wheels).
At $82k I feel I robbed him. I've had it for 48 hours and already put 200mi on it.
I'd like to thank everyone for the invaluable information I've received here... particularly Cannaga, SchnellTT, Peskarik, and Mikelly

...and I've already been pulled over for not having front plates! I have a receipt showing that I ordered a mounting bracket from Porsche of Tysons so the officer was cool and let me go.

You don't need a bracket for the plate, I contemplated one, but yesterday attached front plate with plastic zip-ties through the vertical grill slots. Looks cleaner than a bracket, no drilling, and easily reversible.
Enjoy the car.
