Installation/removal of rear diffuser

Can anyone provide some input about how the lower rear diffuser is removed? Does the bumper have to come off?

Are you speaking of the factory diffuser on the lowest portion of the rear bumper? If so, its best to remove the rear bumper to gain better access. Its very easy to remove the diffuser. A few screws and clips that go from corner to corner.
