Wheel balance and brakes?

I got my 997TT a couple of months ago and now it's in storage for the winter. I have a couple of questions I hope you can help me with.
I just picked up a set of Turbo 1 wheels with TPMS and tires. Does Porsche balance wheels on the car or on a machine? The car was bought without TPMS. Does Porsche need to program the onboard computer so that they are recognised?

Also, my brakes (standard) had 9 and 11 mm left on the pads. The car has 21000 miles and I put on 3000 since I bought it. I would guess that these are the original brakes. When it comes time for the next brake job, will it be necessary to change the rotors or do they last a few brake pad jobs?

Thanks!

OEM TPMS should be recognized without any dealer intervention. Wheels are balanced off the car (look for a shop with Hunter road force balancing equipment) - not sure it could be done on the car with front and rear differentials.

Thanks for the info. It seems my Porsche dealer has one, no doubt it will be more costly.

One thing to keep in mind - it took me a full day of driving around before the onboard computer recognized the TPMS sensors. Seemed a little finicky, but got done.
