It depends if you have a tune or not. It also depends what kind of fuel you are using.

I think Alex posted a pretty good thread about worn plugs.

Porsche may make changes internal to the engine they don't always have to publicize that also note that some of the service intervals are based on the quality of the gasoline available in the area.
