I do realize the topic of converting the 997.1 Turbo Tiptronic wheel from the original "buttons" setup to a "paddle" setup has been a debated/discussed topic for some time on this forum.

When searching this topic, 2 long threads come up, and after reading through them, neither seem to offer a firm conclusion.

Has anyone out there had any success installing a pdk/paddle shift steering wheel on their 07-08 Tiptronic 997 Turbo?

If so, a few questions please...

Which steering wheel did you buy?
More importantly, which modules, if any, did you buy?
Did you have to take it to dealership for coding after install?
How long has it worked problem-free?

I would appreciate any input anyone has out there. This seems like a great upgrade but I would like to avoid spending ~$1500 in parts and then finding out it doesn't work

I have already made this conversion before 8 months without any problems.
You need new air bag-new steerig wheel- new control unit and also programing from PIWIS .

Skandalis has done a few cars, I think 3 here in Greece, including his own and Paul's. Drop him a PM. Coding is tricky, but it is doable.
